LOOP and Instituto Cervantes present visión:a

LOOP, Barcelona’s video art festival, is pleased to announce a major collaboration agreement with the Instituto Cervantes.

The project involves an open-ended agreement that comes into effect in 2007 and will allow us to strengthen our work in the area of exhibiting and bringing to light audiovisual arts at an international level, in accordance with the festival’s philosophy.

The curator chosen to prepare the first program, Javier Duero (Madrid, 1970), has had a long professional career in new media art. He is associate curator at Casa Encendida in Madrid, artistic director of the Observatori Festival de Investigación Artística in Valencia and has worked with many cultural centres and museums, including Caixaforum, the Museo de Arte Contemporaneo de Castilla y Leon (MUSAC) and the Centro Gallego de Arte Contemporáneo (GCAG).

strip film festival

Strip Film Festival, Paris: 3 - 7 October

STRIP FILM FESTIVAL selects old and new films which are hard to find in commercial cinemas, and are kept in private institutions or by the artists themselves. Strip also shows contemporary digital works, either finished or “work in progress”. These pieces are of high formal quality and distinguished originality, and give the public a vision of contemporary film making at its best.

This year, STRIP FILM FESTIVAL will present a special selection of videos of artists who live and work in Barcelona, and have participated in LOOP’07. In May 2008, LOOP Festival will present a selection of artists who are residents of Paris and have shown their work at STRIP FILM FESTIVAL.
